Rooksnest is beautiful English 10-acre garden created with the long-term involvement of Arabella Lennox-Boyd. very much a family garden, there are a number of contrasting areas surrounding the house. Visiting in June, we should enjoy the romantic herbaceous borders at their peak. There are wilder areas and plantings transitioning to the rural estate beyond, as well as a vegetable garden and glasshouses, pond garden and orchard. Following an introduction from the head gardener, Kevin Jordan, we will be free to wander at our own pace.Stockcross House is a former rectory with a two acre garden. It features generous lawns and borders, a large pond, cascade, reflecting pool, orangery, small stumpery, a vegetable and cutting garden with some interesting gates and sculptural elements throughout. Planting is romantic in some areas, with roses, wisteria and climbers trained over a long pergola and walls throughout the garden, becoming more naturalistic in others. We will have an introduction on arrival from the head gardener and there will be the option to be taken around as a group or make our own way (we are welcome to speak to the gardeners working in the garden if we have any queries).
Please note: We haven’t arranged any further beverages here as we should be well-fed and watered after Rooksnest.
