Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, SO23 9NA
Afternoon self-drive with tea, coffee and cake
Members £30 | Guests £ 35
Founded in 1382 Winchester College is believed to be the oldest continuously running school in the country. The college has beautiful formal gardens, wonderful playing fields and stunning views of the surrounding Hampshire countryside.
We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to visit these most exclusive and beautiful gardens. Head Gardener Alan Smith will prepare a route which will include the Head Masters Lawn, War Cloister, Bethesda, Wardens Garden and the Music School.
Alan will talk us through the new planting and history associated with the college grounds. There are plenty of areas to sit and enjoy the various scenes. We will have a break at 3pm for tea and cake.
To make a day of it do consider taking one of the college tours at 10.15am or 11.30am. These start from the Porters Lodge.
