Criteria

The criteria for Committee to consider assistance was originally defined as:
- The site is of an outstanding work of art in its present form, or has high historic value
- The site was considered to be an outstanding work of art according to contemporary evidence at one or more stages of its history, or it has become a trend-setter for later styles
- The site is an important work of a particular designer of historic importance
- The site is associated with a building of special architectural or historic interest
- The site contains features of special importance to Hampshire, which it is desirable to preserve or restore
- The site is, or will become, a major public amenity
- The site is that of a major public building
- Public access to the site, either at particular times or by special arrangement, can be assured
- The recipient undertakes, where the Trust considers it necessary, to enter into an agreement with the Trust to ensure the future maintenance of the site or its features of historic importance
- It is intended to preserve an original document of historic interest to the development of parks or gardens
- The proposal contributes towards the educational objectives of the Trust
- In other circumstances as the Trust may from time to time decide
