Friends of Townhill Park Gardens

Sunday March 11th at 2.30 p.m. the Townhill Park House Gardens Open Day. Entry to the gardens is free and there is a free talk being given by Jane Balfour, Hampshire-based expert on Gertrude Jekyll, entitled “Gertrude Jekyll and her Gardens. Broadlands: a country house in Hampshire.

This exhibition looks at the country house, its contents and context, through the Hampshire property, mainly in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, when these establishments were at the height of their importance. Vignettes of daily life are drawn from family correspondence and the records of domestic service, horticulture and farming.
