Catalogues
All Hampshire Gardens Trusts Library books and journals are included in WebCat, the online catalogue, and are indicated by the call number prefix and location H.G.T. The WebCat tutorial show the most effective ways to search the catalogue. For basic searches use the 'words or phrase' option in Quick search. You can use this to find specific books by entering the author's family name and a word from the title or to find subject material by entering keywords. You need to make a note of the call number of each item to find it on the shelves. Searches can be limited to the H.G.T Library by selecting the location on the Advanced Searches screen.

Access and arrangement of stock
The Hampshire Gardens Trust Library is shelved in the Special Collections open access area on level 4 of the Hartley Library and can be used whenever the Hartley Library is open. The books are arranged by the Library of Congress classification scheme. Many of the books are oversized, (call number prefix 'quarto') and shelved after the general stock H.G.T journals are shelved at the end of the book sequence.

All H.G.T material is for reference use only.

Photocopying
The nearest photocopiers are behind the main staircase on level 4 and you will need a copy card (£1) in order to use them. Photocopying costs are 5p per A4 sheet and 10p for A3.
