According to English Heritage, St Giles House, at Wimborne St Giles is one of Dorset’s most fascinating country houses. It has been the ancestral home of the Ashley-Cooper family (who became the Earls of Shaftesbury) for over 600 years.
Rarely open to the public we will be guided through the house and gardens. Hearing about the history of the estate and its recent revival.
There will be a brief talk about the restoration in the house followed by a look at the park, grotto and lake.
